Engagement Shoots

I Will… Andrew & Carley {Sneak Peek}

Wednesday, May 16th, 2012

Yesterday evening after a couple of rearranged shoots due to the awful British weather I headed in to the city to meet Andrew and Carley for their engagement shoot. I always encourage my couples to choose a location that is special to them and somewhere they have spent time together, this makes it an interesting and inspiring location for me and means the images will mean all the more to them in years to come. Andrew and Carley choose the Mustard Pot Cafe, somewhere they spend many a happy hour having breakfast, coffee and amazing cakes (so I have heard!). When shooting inside depending on how light the location is lighting is usually required and the owner Amy kindly opened the cafe a little later for us so we could shoot with no people around! We spent an hour or so at the cafe before going for a walk around the gorgeous Norwich Streets for the rest of their shoot.

Andrew and Carley booked me around 2 years ago and I can’t believe their date is almost here already! They are getting married 22 years to the date Carley’s Mum and Dad got married and in the same church, what could be more romantic!

Here is one from the cafe as their sneak peek! It is a very cool little place, with local artists work for sale on the walls and fabulous retro furniture and crockery it is on Bridewell Ally and is well worth a visit!

Thanks for a great shoot guys and picking such a cool location, I look forward to sharing the rest with you soon! x

I Will… Sam & Jessie {Sneak Peek}

Friday, May 11th, 2012

My second shoot on Wednesday was also on the beach and I met Sam and Jessie at the little cafe at Well’s before heading on to the beach. They in fact had never been to Well’s and I think loved it just as much as me on seeing the long row of colourful huts.

Sam and Jessie have quite an exciting life at the moment, their wedding is coming up at the end of June AND they are building a house so it was great that they found the time to meet for their shoot and probably great for them to get away from their busy lives for a few hours!

They have so much to look forward to and I am really looking forward to capturing their big day for them.  With close to 200 guests I think it is going to be one FUN wedding!

Thanks for a really fun shoot and I look forward to sharing the rest with you soon!

I Will… Barry & Laura {Sneak Peek}

Thursday, May 10th, 2012

Yesterday morning I headed up to the coast to meet Barry and Laura for their engagement shoot. They are getting married at the end of July and it is going to be a gorgeous summer wedding at the beautiful Brasteds.

I woke up to rain and all the way to the coast it was spitting but on arriving at the beach it was fine and warm, really warm in fact!

They are a really fun loving couple and  although a little nervous they got in to it really quickly.  Barry even suggested a piggy back ride shot and of course I just had to take him up on it!

Thanks for a great shoot guys and I cannot wait for your wedding!

Ode to My Best Buddy!

Monday, April 30th, 2012

I am so so excited as my best friend of close to 20 years got engaged at the weekend! Her and her boyfriend {now fiance) Grant met when Tamsin was at uni and they have been together ever since!

Upon meeting Grant for the first time I knew straight away that he and Tamsin were perfect together (if her could put up with her!!) They are both outgoing, fun and really adventurous people who just love life. Following an amazing trip round the world they decided to emigrate to Australia and have settled (for now!) in what looks to be a very gorgeous Fremantle.

I am writing this post really as a huge congratulations from me, you are perfect together and I know will be together exploring the world for years and years and years! I love you both very much and really hope to be able to come out to Oz and see you in the not too distant future.

A few photos we did when they were visiting Norfolk 5 years ago!

Lots of love, P.S. I know a great photographer!! ; )

I Will… Russ & Kerry

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

Russ and Kerry got married at one of my favourite Norfolk venues, the beautiful Chaucer Barn last summer. Before hand though I met them at the beach for their engagement shoot and we had a lovely afternoon chatting about their forthcoming wedding and capturing some gorgeous images in the mean time.

They are such a sweet couple and Kerry just smiles continuously which is my favourite kind of bride as I knew she would be grinning from ear to ear all day on her wedding day! Here are a selection of my favourites from their engagement shoot with their  amazing wedding coming soon!

I Will… Darren & Sarah, Titchwell {Sneak Peek}

Friday, April 13th, 2012

It was rather grey when I woke up and looked out of the window yesterday morning but on heading over to meet Darren and Sarah at Titchwell for their Engagement shoot it started to brighten up. On route I spotted this gorgeous yellow field and with the big black cloud behind it I knew I HAD to use it! I rushed down to meet them and we headed back to the field, my fingers crossed that the dark dramatic clouds would still be there and… they were!

I threw them in at the deep end a little to capture this pose but they were total pros and I know they are going to be awesome on their wedding day in 6 weeks time! Speaking of which their plans sound pretty amazing so keep your eyes open for that on the blog!

Here is their sneak peek…

I hope you had a lovely evening at Titchwell and I can’t wait for the wedding! x

I Will… Adam & Cathy

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

Last Summer, not long before their wedding I met up with Adam and Cathy at the gorgeous Holkham Beach for their Engagement Shoot. Holkham is a stunning venue, the sun was shining and they came with 2 great summery outfits, I couldn’t wait to get started!

Cathy was a little nervous and like many of us doesn’t like having her photo taken (THE reason to have an Engagement Shoot!) but she looked gorgeous and took direction perfectly. As the shoot went on she got more and more comfortable until she was posing like a pro and the shots were just oozing romance.

Here are a few of my favourites and don’t forget to check back in to see their wedding photos on Friday!

I Will… Simon & Laura {Ickworth House}

Monday, April 2nd, 2012

Me and my other half have wanted to have a look round Ickworth House and gardens for ages so I was thrilled when Simon and Laura suggested this location for their shoot.  So Exactly 6 weeks to the day before their wedding I met them at the gates and couldn’t wait to get started! I love to show the seasons in my photos and the fact that the beautiful lawn was covered with Daffodils was fantastic, so this is where we began. Simon and Laura looked great in blue jeans whites and purples which really stood out in amongst the daffs!  They are SUCH a fun couple and didn’t stop laughing and having fun together, a great recipe for great photos.

This is one of my favourites from the day…

Huge thanks to Simon and Laura for introducing me to such a fabulous venue, bring on the wedding!

I Will… Darren & Nikki {Sneak Peek}

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

I love my job but on weeks with weather like this week, I REALLY love my job! What could be better than getting out of the office and heading in to the countryside to shoot a gorgeous couple, in gorgeous sunshine, at a gorgeous location?!

Darren and Nikki are getting married in a few weeks time and as they are having their reception at the stunning Southwood Hall they suggested their engagement shoot there too. Southwood Hall has beautiful grounds and every time I go there is always something new. With the biggest blue sky I have ever seen the vast fields opposite the Hall made a fantastic backdrop for some more dramatic shots.

Here is their sneak peek, this one I can just imagine as a big image on the wall, I love the simply vastness of the blue sky and green fields…

Big thank you to Darren and Nikki for being such good fun and I look forward to showing you the rest soon! x

I Will… David & Sevil ~ Winterton Beach {Sneak Peek}

Monday, March 26th, 2012

What an amazing weekend it was! I was desperate to get out and shoot on the Saturday and lucky for me I had 2 great shoots booked in. I headed up to Winterton Beach to meet David and Sevil, I was excited to get up there as this is a beach I have not shot at before (of which there are not many in Norfolk!) David and Sevil chose this beach as it is usually lovely and quiet and it is somewhere they love to come as a couple for walks and to relax when they have time off together.

They are such a sweet couple together and we walked, talked and shot and I found out all about their chance meeting in a pub where Sevil had been brave enough to approach David. I am sure he didn’t know what hit him, Sevil is gorgeous, funny, and really bubbly and that started a beautiful relationship. Three years later he got down on one knee in the home they share together and brought out the most gorgeous ring (trust me it is one amazing ring!) what else could Sevil say but yes?!

Many of you will know that I love to shoot in the sun and Sevil and David look so happy and relaxed in this image I just had to share it as their sneak peek…

A big thanks to David and Sevil for being so much fun on the shoot! I look forward to sharing the rest with you x
